GET TO KNOW US - Meet Krysti Rice

We are continuing our blog series, Get To Know Us, this week! In previous blogs, MSW Interactive Designs has had the pleasure to introduce you to owners Mike and Sandy Waggett, Keith Lucas, Erin Burdette, Deanna Rogers Powell, Karen Horsman and Rebbecah Sansom. This week, we are introducing another one of our rock star, social media coordinators, Krysti Rice.

Q. What brought you to the Lake of the Ozarks?

A. In a word, family. I grew up in Macks Creek, MO. I've moved to different places including Springfield, MO, Orlando, FL, and St. Petersburg, FL, but my family is what ultimately brought me back to the Lake of the Ozarks.

Q. How did you get started in the internet marketing field?

A. I graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield with a Bachelor's
Degree in Marketing in 2012. Having my degree definitely helped me land my
first job in internet marketing, which was Director of Social Media and
Community Events at America's Incredible Pizza Company in Springfield, MO.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I LOVE that at MSW Interactive Designs you are free to be yourself. It's such an open work environment that allows for free expression of creative ideas. I also love the team that I work with and getting to learn new things about different businesses we write for.

Q. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?

A. I love to bake and cook for my friends and family. I love to bake so much that I think I was deemed the office baker, lol. I swear there was a month where I baked something for the office every week, whether it was Ooey Gooey Butter Cookies or Sugar Cookies, I was bringing something in to share.

Q. Who’s your family?

A. My immediate family consists of my mom and dad, Kevin and Demi Rice,
along with my 2 sisters and their husbands, Kassie & Ben Hash and Kyla & Derek Brown. I also have 2 darling nieces Baylee and Kimber Hash and another little niece on the way. Last but not least, I'm a dog mom to a cute little
Pomeranian named Gizmo. Family means everything to me. I wouldn't be who
I am today without my family.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. When I was really little, I used to want to be a teacher. I can still see the
advantages to being a teacher and can understand why people may enjoy it,
but I am happy doing what I currently do. :)

Q. What’s something that very few people know about you?

A. You know, I am a very open book, so I feel like there is very little most people don't know about me. But, a lot of people may not know that I was on the soils team in FFA (Future Farmers of America) in High School and made it to the State Finals my senior year.

Q. What’s on your bucket list?

A. I've always wanted to learn how to surf. I'd also like to venture outside the
country at some point, considering I have never been outside the U.S. I wouldn't mind mastering another language too, haven't decided on either French or Spanish yet.

Q. Who inspires you?

A. My late grandma and mom are the 2 strongest women I've ever known. They
both inspire me to "not sweat the small stuff." They make me feel like I'm strong enough to get through things when things get tough. I'm also inspired by my dad. He taught me to not give up on things and when you start something, you finish it. Those words helped me to finish school and get my Bachelor's Degree in Marketing.

Q. What is your favorite social media platform and why?

A. From a work perspective, I'd say Facebook. It's the most popular social media
platform and I recommend every business have it, no matter what type of business you have. From a personal standpoint, I'd have to say Pinterest. I absolutely love Pinterest. I could literally spend hours on Pinterest collecting recipe ideas and searching for cool DIY crafts.
