GET TO KNOW US - Meet Rebbecah Sansom

We are continuing our blog series, Get To Know Us, this week! In previous blogs, MSW Interactive Designs has had the pleasure to introduce you to owners Mike and Sandy Waggett, Keith Lucas, Erin Burdette, Deanna Rogers Powell, Kristina Keeling, and Karen Horsman. This week, we are introducing one of our rock star, social media coordinators, Rebbecah Sansom.

Q. What brought you to the Lake of the Ozarks?

A. I moved to the Lake of the Ozarks area in 2006 after graduating high school to be closer to family. Between then and now, I made several moves to many different places for college and to just experience different aspects of my life, but I always found my way back to the Lake because it just felt like home.

Q. How did you get started in the internet marketing field?

A. It was completely by chance. I dabbled very little in the internet marketing field in my previous jobs. My career path for the last 10 years was focused on property management and real estate, and I just felt that I needed a change. The opportunity presented itself to work for Mike and Sandy, and I jumped on it!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. My favorite part about this job is getting to know about the many different types of businesses we service. Although our job can be somewhat monotonous in actually doing the task, no day is exactly the same. We’re constantly given the opportunity to learn new things about our client’s businesses, which in turn presents an educational moment for us.

Q. What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not at work?

A. I love spending time with my family, dogs, and my horse. They are the loves of my life and makes my heart sing each and every day. I also enjoy reading and doing karaoke!

Q. Who’s your family?

A. I recently married my best friend, Curtis. I’m very close with his family and we spend a lot of time with them. Most of my family lives in Wisconsin, so I go there as often as possible to visit. Two of my brothers, Adam & Levi, and their families live here in Missouri and we enjoy going for motorcycle rides together as often as we’re able to. My mom, for all intents and purposes, lives nearby in Eldon.

Q. What did you want to be when you grew up?

A. I wanted to be a veterinarian. I STILL want to be a veterinarian! But, I’ll settle for just being the crazy dog lady. ðŸ˜Š My passion for animals started when I was very little. I can still remember every single pet I ever had (even the turtles we’d pick up along the roads on our way home), and I cherish every moment I ever had and have with my babies. My mom used to tell me the story of the time she couldn’t find me, and spent hours looking for me around the farm, only to find me hiding out in our chicken coop reading books to the hens…. My love goes deep. ðŸ˜Š

Q. What’s something that very few people know about you?

A. You’d never know this about me if you know who I am today, but I used to be EXTREMELY shy! Like fingers in my mouth, hiding behind anything or anyone I could, shy. I wouldn’t even make eye contact with my own family!

Q. What’s on your bucket list?

A. Oh… the list is VERY long, and ever-changing. But the one thing that has always stuck and never changed is that I want to someday own a boarding and grooming business. My grandmother owned one for as long as I could remember, and the time I spent with her at her shop helping out with the dogs was some of the best memories I enjoy looking back on from my childhood.
b. I would also LOVE to be able to take an entire year to just travel the world. I’ve got so many places I’d like to see and so many cultures I’ve yet to experience that I would love to learn more about.

Q. Who inspires you?

A. My mom, for all intents and purposes, Beverly inspires me every day. She’s been through so much, and has accomplished some really great things in her lifetime so far. She’s such a compassionate and thoughtful person, and puts others above herself more than she should. And no matter what a person’s situation may be, she always finds the best in everyone. I strive to follow in her footsteps and hope that one day I can be even half the woman she is.

Q. What is your favorite social media platform and why?

A. Facebook. I only recently got into using the other social media platforms, but the reason I like Facebook is because it’s the one platform that is widely used by ALL generations. I love that even my grandparents are active on it. It makes keeping up with family and friends so much easier!
