Your 2019 Website Hot List(Don't worry, it's not too long!)

As you work on setting goals and resolutions for your business in 2019, we thought we'd give you a few very important things to consider for the hot list when it comes to your website. This past year brought some interesting changes to the website landscape and it is critical that you are not only aware of them, but that you take action to ensure your website is up to par with them.

In the summer of 2018, Google's Chrome browser started displaying a  NOT SECURE message for EVERY website lacking a SSL certificate. This is a misleading message if your website isn't collecting sensitive information, but it must be paid attention to by website owners because it can …

The Business Who Wins Is The One That's Top of Mind

CONSUMERS ARE BUYING But are they finding YOU and CHOOSING you over your competitors?
Let's face it, in today's world, consumers are in control. Sales people are not. They have searched on Google, gone to Facebook and Instagram, checked multiple review sites, and asked for validation on their choice from their friends. This is BEFORE they ever call a company.

If you've worked consistently on your search and social reach, they probably found you in the mix. The question is, are they choosing you in the slew of other worthy choices?

Make no mistake, your social media presence sends a message. The question is, what KIND of message?
Don't have a social media presence?
That's a very loud and clear message.
The consumer thinks: What?? How can you not be on social media? That's where everyone is - that's where I am. Probably not a good company - they're probably afraid of what people will say about them.

Have a Facebook page, but don't do much with it?
Yep, th…

Google Mobile-first Indexing Explained

Image
The world according to Google has changed once again, and it can impact your website rankings in a positive or negative way.Google is now using an algorithm that will crawl the mobile version of your website first to rank it for search terms. They want to provide mobile users (think smart phone or tablet) the best results possible.Mobile users are now the majority of internet users, and this is Google’s way of helping them find what they are looking for.

1.So what does that mean for my website? In the past, Google has used an algorithm (think math formula) to crawl the internet to find the desktop versions of your website and make a ranking decision based upon hundreds of different ranking factors. Now it's going mobile first.  If you do not have a mobile version of your website or your website is not built with a “responsive design”, then your rankings could be negatively affected. To check if you have a responsive website, view it on a mobile phone. If you have to “pinch and squeeze”…

What It’s Like to Work at MSW Interactive Designs

Image
We're often asked, “What exactly DOES the MSW Team do on a daily basis?” If you are at the Lake of the Ozarks (where our local office is located), you probably see us out and about at different functions, participating in things like Leadership Camden County, showing up for weekly BNI meetings, attending business socials, and supporting charity events. We're super visible in the community, but it's rare to get a look into our daily work environment and culture.

So what is it really like to work with the MSW team? You don’t have to wonder any longer because we have decided to give you a sneak peek into the office life!

Hold onto your seats because you’re about to take a fun and (and possibly surprising) ride!
We Have a Casual & Creative Environment It’s almost always casual Friday at the MSW office ... unless we have a scheduled meeting with a client, of course. Then we'll pull out the black slacks and don our MSW logo’d shirts.

While our deadlines and workload can b…
